Darden Restaurants based out of Orlando, USA is all set to launch its Red Lobster restaurants in Dubai and Kuwait City. Darden recently signed a five year agreement with Americana Group which will open at least 60 restaurants in the Middle East. According to the agreement, Americana will develop, own and operate the restaurants and Darden will get a franchise fee. The plan includes opening of Red Lobster, Olive Garden and LongHorn Steakhouse restaurants, the brands which belong to Darden, in UAE, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Egypt and Lebanon. The first outlet of Red Lobster will start operations inside Dubai Mall, a 12 million-sq.ft complex this summer. One more Red Lobster restaurant will be opened later this year in Kuwait City. The company has not revealed the location as yet.  The design of the restaurants in Middle East will be similar to outlets in America. The company will also customise its offerings according to local tastes and religious beliefs and would not serve pork based dishes and alcohol.
