Freshi, an Ice Sticks chain from Saudi Arabia plans to extend its presence throughout Middle East and North Africa. The company has signed a master franchise deal with Amer Group, to develop the brand in Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Bahrain. Under the deal, Amer Group will launch almost 65 Freshi locations in the region over the next several years. The first Freshi stores are expected to open in 2012 in Egypt. Freshi, in addition to the stores' new look and feel, will also customise its menu to suit the Egyptian palate. The brand will present usual Gelato favourites. It will also offer traditional Arab flavours, including Mocha and Lemon Mint and Cappuccino. Originated in 1985, Amer Group has wide business portfolio of hotels and resorts, chains of malls, and restaurants. It currently, operates a portfolio of 54 restaurants in Egypt, KSA and Syria spread across the five brands Chili's, Carino's Italian, Studio Masr Mediterranean Grill, Halket El Samak seafood restaurant and Alain le Notre French café & pastry.
