UK based coffee chain Costa Coffee has reached 40 years milestone.
UK based coffee chain Costa Coffee has reached 40 years milestone of being in business. The event coincided with the UAE’s 40th anniversary as a nation on December 2, 2011. Costa Coffee offered heavy discounts on its offerings to its consumers to celebrate the national day. The brand currently has 80 outlets in the UAE. It launched its first store in Dubai in 1999 with its franchise partner Emirates Leisure Retail a subsidiary of Emirates Group. The brand is planning to launch another 300 stores over the coming years towards its international expansion.
Costa Coffee launched its first outlet in London in 1978. Later the company was acquired by Whitbread, the UK-based hospitality company in 1995. It has established global presence through more than 2,000 stores in 25 countries.
