The US-based frozen yogurt concept Golden Spoon plans to expand throughout GCC. Recently, the brand signed a franchise agreement with the M.H. Al Mana Group of Companies to grow its foot print across Qatar. Al Mana will be launching eight or more stores over the next five years. Three stores are already open in Doha with fourth location to come up in April. Further, by the end of June 2012, two more outlets will be launched. Finally, the last two of the planned eight outlets are expected to open by the end of August 2012. Besides, Golden spoon is also eyeing other Gulf markets to mark its Middle Eastern footprint. It plans to partner with potential professional, multi-unit franchise developer groups. The yogurt brand catering to health-conscious consumers expects to foray into countries such as; UAE, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait within the next 12 months via master franchise route. Originated in 1983, Golden Spoon, the premier retailer and producer of frozen yogurt is based in Southern California.
